  Agree! Would be especially useful for insurance billing patients, who must have claims submitted under their legal names, but they go by a nickname for all other purposes.

  also need a place for a middle initial for patients with common names (ie: John Anderson, Robert Smith as such)

  we have a lot of patients that go by their nicknames. It would be so much better to be able to search by nick name too. And that the nickname would pull up when you are seraching normally.

  When is this update expected to be live? This is a growing issue in our practice not only for those who use their middle name or a nickname, but also those living as another gender under an assumed name. Not being able to have the name they are comfortable with is a major dissatisfier for providers and for the patient if we "slip up" and forget their assumed name.

  YES PLEASE! This is very important to our transgender patients and also our doctor to ensure all are comfortable at our practice. It would also be helpful for those who like to go by a middle name or any other name! It would be awesome if this preferred name didn't effect the process of billing insurance if the insurance is under the original name!!

  I notice this is now marked "DONE"....BUT the nickname really needs to show up ON the schedule/calendar. I have to click on the name to look at the right side pop up to see the nickname. Still an unnecessary extra step...

  I'm glad you added the nickname field, but it would have been more helpful to add it under the "Essentials" tab where the other patient info is located. Also, is the nickname going to appear everywhere the name is searched and listed, like on the Billing or Calendar pages?
