Non-visit documentation note.
How about an option to add a note on a date for a non-visit encounter such as a telephone call or a brief conversation with the patient. Also making this so that it does not wipe out the previous notes would be essential, that way when the patient next comes for a treatment it will carry over the previous actual visit and not the phone call.

Every program I ever worked with had a separate page for notes to be entered on the patient (even those that had a sunset time due to being discontinued). There are billers & collectors working the claims & sometimes they need resubmitted. There is no place to review notes to see if this was already done or not (2 of us resubbed the same DOS b/c there was no place for notes). It would be helpful to know what someone was working on and where they left off (especially now that there is so much turnover everywhere). This would help in the case if someone is out sick, on vacation or just quit. No notes under the ins plan because it links everything & will mess everything up. That is not a big enough area anyway. Michael Page, DCAbsolutely necessary. Since there is no way to do an addendum to a note, this might substitute. Great idea!

JustinThis would be excellent b/c 'Notes' are not permanently stored in there medical file. Currently we are putting the note in with there appointment date on the schedule. Perhaps in the documentation 'Note' section we could add a quick note about the phone call or text that can be added to medical file instead of a quick word/google doc.

RobinThis would be helpful that way is will be there for future reference and adding a word/google doc helps but sometimes it takes too much time. The word/google doc does not always go in like it should.

Dr. Rich Merrion MergedThere should be 3 choices available when I click on the "person icon" on the appointment for entering notes: "Create Soap note" "Create Exam note" and "Non-visit Chart entry" - A non-visit chart entry should not pull anything through from billing but just be for notification to insurance companies of reschedules and cancellations.

BonMeade Mergedan area where a journal or "log" of activity on the file for admin use. example: 10/4/22 "Jane doe states she will cover today's copay next appointment" and a report that can be generated to show last few notes in the log for pts scheduled that day, or various ways to pull a "task List" for opened situations still pending resolution. This way, staff can track various situations that could occur and address them, and know the situation has been resolved or if it is ongoing, what has been done, etc.
Currently using the Alerts for such items, but those alerts should be used to alert of medical situations to be aware of. -
